Please have a look through and let me know what you love and what you’d like to change and we can work together to make it perfect for you.

Just a note that pricing is subject to change and nothing is currently being held or secured. Once we have the itinerary exactly how you’d like it I can then look at securing the arrangements.

Hanoi Half-Day City Tour with Old Quarter Cyclo Ride & Private Street Food Tour

09:00-13:00: Meet your guide at hotel’s lobby and start your Half-Day City Tour

Explore the charming city of Hanoi, often referred to as the ‘Paris of the East’, with its yellow ochre colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and scenic lakes. Visit the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing monument of marble and granite built to house the preserved body of beloved Vietminh leader Ho Chi Minh, affectionately known to the Vietnamese as “Uncle Ho”. Visit the One Pillar Pagoda, a Buddhist temple built in 1049 of wood in the shape of a lotus blossom and set on a single stone pillar, considered by many to be one of Vietnam’s most iconic pagodas. Proceed to Ho Chi Minh House nearby, a simple wooden house in a tranquil setting where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked. Some of his belongings are on display and visitors can walk up the steps to see his bedroom.

Then take a 1hr cyclo tour through the famed Old Quarter known for its ‘36 streets of 36 wares’ named after the original 36 artisan guilds that date as far back as the 13 th century. Explore the fascinating maze of back streets,
fronted by narrow houses known as “tunnel” or “tube houses”, built to avoid taxes based on the width of their frontage onto the street, a wonderfully eclectic glimpse into Hanoi street life.

Visit the thought-provoking Hoa Lo Prison to learn about its use by the
French between 1896-1954 to imprison Vietnamese political prisoners before it housed American POWs including Sen. John McCain and Pete Peterson, a pilot who later became the first United States Ambassador to Vietnam. While only part of the original complex is left, the displays present a Vietnamese perspective in photographs and writings on the foreign powers involved in Vietnam’s recent history.

16:00 - 19:00 Take a private street food tour of Hanoi’s best culinary spots. Stroll through the Old Quarter past the old east gate to Thanh Ha market. Along the way, try local delicacies and listen to his explanation of Vietnamese food practices. This busy, eclectic market is alive with the sights and sounds of Hanoi and is the essence of Vietnamese culture.

Continue through the streets of the Old Quarter to Dong Xuan market to sample some local treats such as pho tiu and bun dau. See dried goods and aromatics, the essentials of Vietnamese cuisine. Stroll up a ‘food alley’ to see other interesting dishes on offer.

Walk down to Hang Than Street to view ceremonial cake stalls and taste a special French influenced dessert. An explanation on traditions and food gifts for celebrations will be given.

Continue back into the Old Quarter via Hang Cot Street - check specially treated fruit which are dependable on the seasons and a common snack in Vietnam. Walk along Phung Hung Street through temporary market stalls where you can see the changing market scene in Hanoi and how modernization is
shaping tradition.

At the end of the tour, stop at one of the Old Quarter busiest (yet smallest) coffee shops for a well-earned sit down and coffee before transferring back to your hotel.

Day 3 - Monday 04 Oct 2027
Explore Northern Vietnam’s Stunning Countryside at Hoa Lu And Tam Coc

08:00-17:00:  Meet your guide at hotel’s lobby and depart Hanoi for a 2-hour drive to Ninh Binh, a spectacular UNESCO Mixed World Heritage site. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014, Trang An complex is famed for
its spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks whose sheer vertical walls rise abruptly 200m (656ft) above the surrounding land and water. Dense rain forest covers the landscape, even clinging to the cliffs and peaks, blending naturally with rice paddy fields and rivers, creating a picturesque patchwork of color.

Within the complex, visit Vietnam’s ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the country’s first centralized feudal state from the end of the 10th century. While the ancient citadel has largely disappeared, the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties still stand surrounded by rice paddies. Continue to Tam Coc, known as “Halong Bay on Land”, where a skilled rower will take you on a 2-hour slow journey on the winding river and canals. Enjoy the views of the beautiful karst formations as you enter three of the many natural caves formed under the hills. Visit the Thai Vi temple on the way back to Tam Coc for lunch.

Return to Hanoi late afternoon.
Inclusions: Lunch is included

reptilian and 32 mammalian species including deer, macaques, and civets.

Return to the ship for lunch and some enjoyable sailing time reaching eventually a secluded spot for the afternoon activities. The afternoon is “at your own pace” with options including relaxing on a natural beach, swimming in the bay, enjoying spa treatments, steam bath, or sauna back on board. Make the most of this
unhurried afternoon, creating enduring memories in Lan Ha Bay.

As the sun sets, the ship sails to its overnight mooring spot. Savour a multi-course dinner and join again our guided “Singing Bowl Meditation” or retire to your suite to unwind on your private balcony.

Day 6 - Thursday 07 Oct 2027

perfect for an energetic morning excursion by kayak. Explore this captivating marine landscape with cliffs stretching vertically out of the water and you feel a sense of freedom while paddling through a labyrinth of jade-green water, rocks and vivid tree-topped islets.
